Campbell County Middle School students raise money for the American Cancer Society


Campbell County Middle School students will present a check for $2266.62 to the American Cancer Society (ACS) during a celebration at the school Wednesday, May 19.

Campbell County Middle School students will present a check for $2266.62 to the American Cancer Society (ACS) during a celebration at the school Wednesday, May 19.

The school has been raising money for the ACS as part of their participation in the Campbell County Relay for Life, which will be held later this month. The school held a penny war for four weeks with the winning home room raising $425.

To celebrate the accomplishment, the students plan to present a check to the ACS at a Relay for Life Celebration from 8-9 a.m. Wednesday, May 19 at the school, 8000 Alexandria Pike, Alexandria.

The Campbell County Relay for Life is an all-night event which raises money for the American Cancer Society. This year’s relay will be held from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. (Friday evening to Saturday morning) May 21-22 at the Newport High School football field.
