Since 2000 members of the Covington Catholic High School Student Senate have raised money to buy Christmas presents for children at Holly Hill Children's Services. This year, through a variety of fundraising efforts, the students collected $4,000 to buy presents for Holly Hill.

USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has announced that the ranking period cut-off date for the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) is January 13, 2012. Producers interested in CSP should submit applications to their local NRCS office by the deadline so that their applications can be considered during the first ranking period of 2012.

Rotary Club helps answer school’s plea for Christmas gifts
The members of the Covington Rotary Club are working to answer John G. Carlisle Elementary School's recent call for help in giving Christmas gifts to every student in the school in Covington. Within the last week the Covington Rotarians raised $1,420 (enough for 142 gifts) plus an additional donation of 125 gifts for a total of 267 Christmas gifts for the children.
